FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5:   Registration in the Hospitality Room (The Olympic Room) at 3:00 PM.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6:  Board the bus at 9:30 AM for The Museum of Flight, the world’s largest private air and space museum.  There will be a one-hour guided tour, followed by one hour of  independent viewing where you can walk the aisle of JFK’s Air Force One, climb aboard the West Coast’s only Concorde, see the only full scale NASA Space Shuttle Trainer up close, sit at the controls of the world’s fastest jet.  From the Wright Brothers to the exploration of Mars, you’ll find it at the Museum of Flight.  At noon we will have boxed lunches in the South View Lounge.  For those who may wish to relax, this lounge will be available to our group only at any time during our visit to the museum.

At approximately 12:30 PM board the bus to Seattle Center for our trip to the Space Needle  and the Chihuly Garden & Glass Exhibition. Built for the 1962 World’s Fair, the Needle, along with its outside deck, provides breathtaking views of the Seattle area’s outstanding natural features. Enjoy a quick, 41-second elevator ride to the observation deck and soak up this spectacular city from 520 feet above the ground. At the base of the Space Needle, explore the imaginative works of Seattle’s famous glass-blowing artist, Dale Chihuly.  Visit the Glasshouse where swirls of massive red and yellow blown flowers hang.  Continue through exhibits that feature drawings of future works, and step into the theater to watch films of the master at work.  Outside, stroll through gardens punctuated by more of Chihuly’s grand designs.  Return to the  hotel at 3:00 PM.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7:   Board the bus at 8:45 for a narrated drive-by tour of the bustling core of downtown Seattle highlighting Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Shopping District, World’s First Starbucks, and the amazing Amazon campus; Pioneer Square – Seattle’s original downtown, now home to a 35 square block historic district bordering the sports stadiums for the Seahawks, Sounders, and Mariners; The International District – Home to Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Cambodian, and Hmong communities; Seattle Waterfront -  Includes the aquarium, Ferris wheel, historic piers, and ferry and water taxi terminals; Queen Anne View Point – Provides a dramatic panoramic photo opportunity of Seattle’s skyline, spectacular architecture and aesthetic in one of the city’s more exclusive old-money neighborhoods.

10:45: Arrive at Seattle Center for a quick lunch on your own at the Armory Food Court before departing at 11:45 for our cruise of the Ballard Locks. The cruise boards at 12:15 and departs at 12:45.  The locks provide a link for boats between the saltwater Puget Sound and the freshwater of the Ship Canal, which then connects into Lake Union.  Take in the view of Seattle from the water, the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, and majestic Mt. Rainier.   See the houseboat community that was featured in the movie Sleepless in Seattle.  Learn how the locks work as the boat is lifted to the freshwater level of the ship canal.  Note:  Food and drinks are available for purchase on the boat should you choose to have a later lunch.  We were unable to book a cruise with a later departure time.

2:45 PM: Boat trip ends.  Return to hotel.

3:30: The National meeting followed by the Western and Atlantic meetings at locations to be announced.

6:00 –7:00 PM Cash Bar followed by Buffet Banquet 7-10:00 PM in the Rainier Room.
